This year turns in the middle. The Mars Maha Dasha that has shaped the last seven years spends its final seven months in the Moon Antar. On 23 December 2026 it closes, and an eighteen-year Rahu Maha Dasha opens. Mars rules your 3rd and 8th houses and sits in your 11th; the Moon rules your 11th and sits in your 8th — and because each sits in the other's sign, this last Antar runs both halves of that exchange together.
January 2027 (Rahu Maha · Rahu Antar · Rahu pratyantar): Rahu now runs every layer of the dasha, so its nature comes through undiluted. It rules no house of its own; instead it amplifies the house it occupies — for you, the 9th of higher learning, teachers, long travel and belief. The 9th receives natal Jupiter's aspect and meets its minimum, 31 bindus against 29, so this chapter opens on supported ground.

Chart positions are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris on the Lahiri ayanamsa. The readings come from the source texts themselves — Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Phaladeepika, Saravali and Jaimini's Upadesha Sutras — read verse by verse rather than summarised from secondary sources. Where two texts disagree, the report says which one it used.
It gives months and periods, not dates. Each month names the period lord running it and what that activates in your chart; where a sub-period changes mid-month, it says so. What it will not do is tell you that something will happen on a particular day, because the technique does not support that.
The twelve months from when you order, so it always starts where you are rather than at a calendar year. If a major dasha opens or closes inside that window, that becomes the spine of the report.
The birth chart report reads every house in your chart and maps your whole life arc. This one takes the next twelve months and reads them closely — which period runs each month, what it activates, and what the year is building. They answer different questions, and most people want the birth chart first.
It matters. The dashas are calculated from the Moon's position, which moves about thirteen degrees a day, so a wrong time shifts the period dates themselves. If you are unsure of your time, say so — the reading should be treated as provisional.
